Description
The holy month of Sawan has arrived, and the city of Ujjain (Avantika) is resonating with chants of "Har-Har Mahadev." Lakhs of Kanwariyas from every corner of the country are traveling hundreds of kilometers on foot—often barefoot and enduring immense hardship—to reach Ujjain and perform *Jalabhishek* (ritual offering of water) to Baba Mahakal.
Special camps (Kawad Shivirs) are set up along the routes and at the city entrances for these Kanwariyas.Donations to these camps contribute to the following arrangements:
Food and Refreshments: Provision of Sattvic (pure/wholesome) refreshments and clean drinking water.
Medical and Health Services: Medical aid and care for blisters, fatigue, and injuries resulting from walking for hours.
Rest and Shelter: Mattresses, tents, and safe spaces for resting before and after visiting the Mahakal temple.
Facilities at the Shipra Riverbank and Along the Route: Water supply and sanitation facilities.
