🔱 About the Chadhava
The special lock offering at “Tale Wale Mahadev” is a divine blend of faith and devotion. Devotees offer a lock to Lord Shiva as a symbol of their unfulfilled desires, stuck situations, and blocked fortunes — entrusting their wishes to the divine.
It is believed that when this lock is offered at the feet of Bholenath, Shiva, in His grace, opens the doors to those desires which remained closed till now.
This offering is not just an object — it is a vow, a devotion, and a key of faith surrendered to Lord Shiva.
This unique tradition has been followed for years at Shri Natheshwar Mahadev Temple in Prayagraj, where behind every lock lies a sincere prayer… and every prayer finds its divine response from Mahadev.
📜 Mythological Story
Legend says that during their exile in disguise (Agyatvas), the Pandavas came to this region of Prayagraj. Here, they performed secret penance to Natheshwar Mahadev and sought His blessing to remain hidden from all powers.
It is believed that the Pandavas practiced a "secret lock-based ritual" (गुप्त ताले वाली साधना), and by Lord Shiva’s blessings, their identity remained concealed.
Since then, this sacred place came to be known as “Tale Wale Mahadev”, and the tradition of offering locks for wish fulfillment began.
