Maa Shailputri Puja Homa
This ritual is performed with profound purity and elaborate Vedic procedures. The worship begins with purification using holy water, Ganesh Puja, and Varun Sthapana. Following this, Ghatasthapana (Kalash Sthapana) is established, and a special Sankalp is taken in the devotee's name and Gotra. Goddess Shailputri's idol is offered Shodashopachara (worship with 16 types of offerings)—including sindoor, red flowers, akshat, incense, lamps, and a special offering of pure cow ghee dear to the Goddess.
Next, a targeted chant of the mantras "Om Aim Hreem Kleem Chamundayai Vichche" and Om Devi Shailputryai Namah is performed. Finally, the first chapter of Durga Saptashati is recited, followed by a Homa performed with pure cow ghee, havan samagri, makhana, patasa (sugar drops), and special herbs. This entire process invokes the form of the Goddess who rides a bull (Nandi), holds a trident and a lotus, and bestows energy upon the entire universe.
