More About  Kal Bhairav Mandir

According to Hindu mythology, Lord Kal Bhairav is a fierce manifestation of Lord Shiva, created to protect the Shakti Peethas. The legend says that when Lord Brahma grew arrogant and questioned Shiva’s supremacy, Kal Bhairav emerged and cut off Brahma’s fifth head. This act, though divine, was considered a grave sin, and Bhairav wandered across the world to atone for it. His journey ended at Kashi, but Ujjain became the place where his protective energy was permanently enshrined.

In Ujjain, Kal Bhairav is worshipped as the city’s guardian deity, the “Kotwal of Ujjain” believed to watch over devotees and shield the holy city from negative forces.
