His queen, Kannagi, was a devout devotee of Goddess Parvati. One day, Kannagi's dream revealed that their kingdom would be blessed with a daughter who would be as radiant as the sun. When their daughter was born, they named her Meenakshi, meaning "fish-eyed" after her beautiful eyes.As Meenakshi grew, she displayed extraordinary powers and wisdom. She was a skilled warrior and a devout devotee of Lord Shiva. One day, she decided to perform a Swayamvara, a traditional Hindu practice where a princess chooses her husband.During the Swayamvara, Lord Shiva, disguised as a young Brahmin named Sundareswarar, appeared and attracted Meenakshi. However, upon seeing his true form, Meenakshi was overwhelmed by his divine radiance and fell to the ground.Lord Shiva, touched by Meenakshi's devotion, revealed his true identity and accepted her as his consort.
