Nalhati – A Sacred Land of Devi Shakti
Nalhati is a religious town located in the northern part of Birbhum district, close to the border of Jharkhand. The town derives its name from the Sanskrit words "Nala" (throat) and "Hati" (broken), as it is believed that the throat of Goddess Sati fell here, making it one of the 51 Shakti Peethas. The Nalateshwari Temple, situated on a small hillock, is the main attraction here. The temple draws large numbers of devotees, especially during Navratri, Durga Puja, and Kali Puja. Despite being a small town, Nalhati holds immense spiritual value and offers a serene, devotional atmosphere. Surrounded by low hills and greenery, it also serves as a peaceful retreat for spiritual seekers and pilgrims.
Nalhati is a spiritually significant and peaceful town that offers a strong connection to the divine feminine. A perfect destination for devotees of Shakti, it is rich in religious heritage and sacred tranquility.
