More About Nandikeshwari Shaktipeeth

Nandikeshwari Temple is closely associated with the story of Sati's self-sacrifice at the Yajna Sabha hosted by her father, Daksha. According to Hindu mythology, Daksha insulted both Sati and her husband, Lord Shiva, which led to Sati's self-immolation. Afterward, when Lord Shiva was filled with grief and rage, he carried Sati’s body, and the Sudarshan Chakra of Lord Vishnu intervened to calm him. The Chakra severed Sati’s body into pieces, which fell at various locations, known as Shakti Peethas. It is believed that Sati’s necklace fell at Nandikeshwari, marking the site as a significant Shakti Peetha, revered for its spiritual and divine energy.
